Reading the many replies to this, I have been impressed by a couple of
things:

	1) the sheer number of indie bands I've never heard of
	2) nobody is listing NEGATIVLAND!

NEGATIVLAND.  You don't get much more independant than that. Sure,
they're not surf or punk or anything really identifiable and they
don't exactly rock and they're not really spacey, but they're still
really cool.  As a matter of fact, a little NEGATIVLAND was played
over the PA before the ASTRO-guys played at Satyricon last year.
I don't know who picks what gets played before the show, though,
so maybe the ASTRO-units don't know of NEGATIVLAND either.
