[ASTRO] MFT Listening Experiment N

.. begin astro-transmission

I know nobody cares, but I just wanted to say that my previous
comparisons of MOA to other bands were inept and inaccurate.
I don't have a very good knowledge of much of the stuff you
kids listen to these days. My point was that on certain MFT
tracks MOA seemed to be borrowing from the sound or style of
other bands. Bands which I now admitt I can't exactly identify.

This is not a new phenomenon in general terms. MOA has always
been about taking someone else's sound or style or song and
transforming it into their own strange wonderful creation.
That is what they started out doing with surf, and now they
have moved on to other source material. When the other source
material is something I can relate to like Talking Heads or
REM, that is any easy sell for me. But when they start
assimilating the music of some of today's more self-conciously
"serious" youngsters, I don't connect quite so easily.
I got hooked on MOA because they were fun.

It's an age thing. I'm an old fart. But most of MFT really
rocks anyway! I just can't stand those whispery drony spooky
vocals on a couple or three of the tracks. Again I say to
Starcrunch: I know you can really sing, so go ahead already.
